Here is the latest news about HIMELE's Hawaiian steel guitar festivals and related events.
Six NextGen keiki steel guitarists will be featured at the Hawaiian Steel Guitar Festival - Keiki Kine at Kahala Mall. The Ke Kula Mele Hawai‘i School of Hawaiian Music musicians who will perform include Hi‘ipoi Lindsay, Enosa Lyman, Tai Misailidis, Makamae Lyu-Napoleon, Isabella Bertelmann, and Pono Fernandez. The steel guitarists range in age from 10 years old to 18 years old.
The annual event will begin at 3:00 P.M. and will be livestreamed on the Hawaiian Steel Guitar Showcase Facebook Page and YouTube Channel.
Tentative dates for some 2024 steel guitar festivals have been released.
