Date Change for Kahala Mall Festival

The date for the Hawaiian Steel Guitar Festival Keiki Kine at Kahala Mall featuring NextGen steel guitar students of Ke Kula Mele Hawai‘i School of Hawaiian Music has been changed.

The August 13 date originally selected for the festival inadvertently coincided with the Northern California HSGA Hawaiian Steel Guitar Festival. The revised date for the Kahala Mall festival is now set at August 27, 2022.

As announced previously, the festival wil feature some NextGen steel guitarists that have appeared at other festivals as well as a few newcomers who will make their festival debut.

The Kahala Mall festival is one of a series of community-oriented festivals under the Hawaiian Steel Guitar Festival umbrella that are designed to extend the outreach of the Hawaiian steel guitar to local communities on O‘ahu. Other community festivals are presented at the Windward Mall for Windward O‘ahu communities and at the Ka Makana Ali‘i Center in Kapolei for Leward O‘ahu communities.
