Maui Steel Guitar Festival COVID-19

Maui Steel Guitar Festival Rescheduled

March 13, 2020 • Addison ChingFestivals and Conventions

The 2020 Maui Steel Guitar Festival has been rescheduled.

The festival will now be held on October 16-17 at The Shops at Wailea, and October 18 at the Queen Ka‘ahumanu Center in Kahului.

The festival rescheduling was due to the current COVID-19 pandemic threat and was done out of an abundance of caution to protect festival musicians, staff and guests.

While there are no current cases of COVID-19 on Maui, Maui Mayor Michael Victorino issued a list of proactive actions to protect Maui County from coronavirus. Included in these actions was "Recommending the cancellation or postponement of events with large gatherings of people that would prevent social distancing measures." This is consistent with actions by County Mayors from Kaua‘i and Hawai‘i Island to protect their counties from coronavirus.

No further schedule changes of the Maui festival are anticipated but anyone interested in the festival should check the festival's website for updated information.
