Silvertone was a store brand used by Sears, Roebuck & Company for its line of musical instruments. Sears sold Silvertone lap steel guitars built and manufactured by Harmony.
Harmony used guitar pickups made by the Gibson Company. This Silvertone Model 1316 has a single coil Gibson P13 pickup, with a nickel plated "speed bump" cover.
The wood body is painted black with white binding, a plexi glass fingerboard, and an art deco vibe.
The P13 pickup is clear and bright sounding and good for sweet Hawaiian style or honky tonk country steel!
