The Steel Trappings online Newsletter/Blog has been revamped to a slightly modified format. Previously hosted in a WordPress environment on a dedicated WordPress server, the entire newsletter contents have been redeployed to a real website using a newer "responsive" format which adapts the page content to the device it is being viewed on. This new paradigm "responds" to the device by rearranging website content so that it is more readable on various size screens. Websites using this responsive design can be identified by the seemingly larger font sizes used on webpages and a distinctive columnizing of page content into three or four discreet columns.
All article content and graphics have been preserved and in some cases resized and enhanced for the responsive web pages. All previous indexing features have also been preserved. Articles can be accessed by month of publication, by categories, by author, or by article tags. While WordPress archived content results were presented with the most current content displayed first, the new website reverses that order and presents archived content in chronological order. Current articles displayed on the main page are still presented in reverse chronological order, with the most recent article displayed first.
Some features that have not been carried over in the new design include content searching, the ability to add comments to an article, and the ability to navigate sequentially forwards and backwards from the current article. Cross-posting to other social media platforms is also unsupported.
The responsive format should result in better readability and content navigation on all viewing platforms.
