1947 Gibson Model BR-9

In 1947 Gibson unveiled a keenly priced student model set. The model BR-9 steel guitar with matching amplifier would eventually become Gibson's most popular lap steel of the post-war era.
This Hawaiian outfit was primarily meant to be sold as a pair through the school programs run by many Gibson music dealers across the country.
The fingerboard on this steel guitar is particularly helpful to beginning students because of its clear numbering and large markers.
The matching BR-9 tube amplifier came with an 8 inch speaker housed in a washable lightweight plastic casing.
